Gryphons are legendary creatures with the head, talons, and wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. Gryphons are believed to be incredibly powerful creatures. It was often used as a symbol of power and a Guardian of the Divine.

Gryphons are most common in Greek Mythology however there are images of Gryphons in Persian and Egyptian art. Gryphons mate for life. It is even said that if one of the partners die then the other will never again search for a mate. Churches often use gryphons to symbolize the church's opinion on remarriage.

It is said that a Gryphon's claw contains powerful medicinal properties and that just one of its feathers could even return sight to someone who is blind.
